The mission of the Alabama Hiking Trail Society and its members is to plan, build, and maintain safe hiking trails for all to enjoy throughout the state and educate the public of the careful use and enjoyment of Alabama's great outdoors.

Description

The Alabama Hiking Trail society is a statewide, environmentally-focused, mission-driven organization committed to maintaining wilderness trails and building the grand Alabama Trail which will run from the sparkling blue waters of the Gulf of Mexico up to the awe-inspiring Walls of Jericho at the Tennessee state line. AHTS strives to engage community members of all backgrounds with the beautiful landscape of our state and hopes to inspire eco-tourism throughout the country as Alabama is increasingly recognized as an outdoor recreation destination.
