Mission Statement
Our Approach The J.F. Holder Foundation takes a grassroots approach to mentoring and educating at-risk youth. We understand that they face challenges both inside and outside the classroom, with disparities in educational resources, access to technology, wealth and life chances. We offer year-round programs & workshops designed to help at-risk youths achieve academic, social and workforce success. Our programming is geared to add Value Added Programming (VAP) to schools and non-profit organizations in underserved communities. The J. F. Holder Foundation consists of two major components, our Powered for Success Master Program and the Fairmont Project.
Description
The J.F. Holder Foundation established the Fairmont Project as a platform to address diversity and inclusion issues in America. The project’s mission is to address the academic achievement gap in economically disadvantaged communities, to start real & honest conversation about race relations, to improve cross-cultural communication and cooperation, and to layout strategies and solutions that advance racial and social justice in America. Today's young people receive little meaningful education about race and its continuing role in our society. We work to layout the blueprint for at-risk youth to excel in today’s social climate.
