For over 30 years, Open Arms has provided safe and educational environments for thousands of Indiana children and youth who are struggling to find a life of peace and success. Open Arms provides 3 different services; foster homes, a girls group home, and an education center for students to receive their HSE/GED.
The children that come into our care come with many hurtful and negative experiences. Our goal is to change each child's negative experience into a positive experience. Positive experiences that will last through their life time. We change them into positive experiences by provide safety; a loving home; healing through counseling; education; and life skills to hurting and struggling children.
Open Arms is always looking for volunteers. We have many different areas where volunteers are needed. We have a need for volunteers to come into our group home and spend time with or teach the young women in the group home different skills like musical instruments, cooking, yoga, or just come in a play card or board games. We are blessed with many different kinds of donations but need volunteers to help organize the toy, clothes, and other donations. We always have a need for work groups to come in and help with all kinds of jobs helping to maintain and improve our facilities and grounds.
