Oldways is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving public health by promoting traditional food choices. We offer educational programs and recipes based on cultural heritage, the goodness of whole grains, and the practices of traditional cheese-making. One of Oldways' programs is A Taste of African Heritage, a six-week nutrition and cooking series that teaches healthy, plant-based eating inspired by the African Heritage Diet Pyramid. Through hands-on cooking of simple and affordable recipes, participants learn about foods from across the African diaspora in a culturally relevant way.
