Mission Statement

The mission of the Venice Museum & Archives is to collect and preserve historical and archeological material relating to Venice and the communities of Nokomis, Laurel and Osprey, whose histories have all been interwoven from 1867 to the present time.

Description

The Venice Museum & Archives is operated by the City of Venice. It comprises the Triangle Inn, which houses exhibits and collections research, the Lord-Higel House, which will tell the story of early Florida life, and the Dale Laning & Julia Cousins Laning Archives & Research Center, which will house the museum's collections. We put on exhibits, give tours to visitors, fulfill research requests, and hold some events.
