Mission Statement
We rescue, rehabilitate and place unwanted German Shepherd Dogs in Maryland and northern Virginia.
Description
We rescue, rehabilitate and place unwanted German Shepherds. The dogs that come into our organization are placed in foster homes for temperament evaluation, or if there is no foster available, we board them in a kennel until a foster home is available. Dogs are taken to the vet for spay/neuter and all shots prior to adoption. People who apply to adopt our dogs will undergo reference checks, a home visit, and must agree to attend a basic obedience class with their dog. A representative from our rescue does follow up calls to adoptive 'parents' to offer support or advice or referral for assistance in dealing with the new pet. We participate in adoption days at fairs, pet stores and boarding kennels, and also run ads in local newspapers to promote our organization. We are always looking for new ways to raise funds for our organization and recruit new volunteers.
