Mission Statement

Wellness Works PDX is organized and operated exclusively for charitable, rehabilitation and educational purposes for those living with, or recovering from mental illness. The mission of Wellness Works PDX is to provide community support for mental health recovery. To accomplish this mission, Wellness Works PDX supports programs that assist individuals with barriers to employment, education and social interaction as a result of mental illness and address mental illness recovery. To that end we have elected to provide support to NorthStar Clubhouse, an evidence based, peer run program. The support we provide is sponsorship of various social and educational activities, promotion of NorthStar to the general public, employment training and socializing opportunities for members through our volunteer operated resale and consignment store and subsidizing building rent costs via the proceeds from our shop, The Next R (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle...Recovery)

Description

Wellness Works PDX is a small organization at this time and has focused its efforts in support of NorthStar Clubhouse, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hb7yJUODFwM. We have provided sponsorship for various educational and social events and currently are managing a Resale and Consign shop to cover part of NorthStar's building rent, while also providing volunteer employment training opportunities to members as well as providing the general community an opportunity to reduce the amount of waste going to the landfill and allow the community to support mental health recovery through donation of items for the shop to sell.
