Mission Statement

City Plants envisions an LA in which people in every neighborhood have equal access to trees and their benefits - energy efficiency, clean air, better health, cooling shade, and a friendlier, more vibrant neighborhood. At City Plants, our mission is to expand LA's tree canopy into the communities that need trees the most. We work with the City of Los Angeles, the Los Angeles Department of Water & Power, businesses, community groups, schools, and individuals to plant trees throughout the city. Our main priorities are: 1) Planting in "low canopy" neighborhoods and ensuring those communities are empowered to establish and maintain those canopies; 2) Promoting a sustainable Los Angeles by maximizing our canopy’s energy efficiency, stormwater capture, energy conservation and climate adaptation benefits 3) Creating jobs 4) Promoting a healthy lifestyle for LA families

Description
