JLT Fieldhouse, Inc., a 501c3 nonprofit organization is dedicated to "Coaching and Mentoring the Leaders of Tomorrow. "
JLT Fieldhouse, Inc., operating under Founder/Director Antwaun Thompson, is named after his father, the late Sgt. Major Joe Lewis Thompson, USMC.
JLT Fieldhouse, Inc. offers year round intense one on one and team oriented training in basketball, focus, leadership, confidence building, teamwork and above all, mentoring the youth of tomorrow. It will be established and operate in Rowan County, NC. We will focus on the basics of the game of basketball. Increased athletic skills, self-confidence, team building, elevation of self-esteem, self-worth and personal development for the future are the objectives of this academy. Our major contributions to the community will be mentoring and coaching of life skills and establishing a scholarship foundation to provide educational assistance to participants to allow for continuing and higher educational opportunities.
The inclusion of a learning center to coincide with the athletic aspects of our operation will enhance social skills as well as promote an engaging educational environment. We are planning to collaborate with local higher education institutions, Livingstone College and Catawba College to provide the learning assistance for our participants, while also providing teaching opportunities for the education majors at these institutions through work study programs and volunteering.
