ALI was founded in 1987 as a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization that provides affordable housing, food, transportation, and supervision for individuals with developmental and cognitive disabilities. ALI’s mission is to teach independent living skills and encourage social and community participation. Its resi­dents work in the community, volunteer, or attend a day program.
