Alpha Bravo Canine, a 501 (c)3 organization raises, trains and donates service dogs to disabled veterans living from PTS, TBI and pysical disabilities. Position Summary: As a Volunteer Puppy Raiser, you’ll help shape the future of a service dog from the puppy stage by providing daily care, early training, and socialization. Your dedication gives our dogs the strong foundation they need to one day serve a veteran with physical or emotional disabilities. Key Responsibilities: * Provide a loving, structured, and safe home environment for a service dog-in-training * Commit to raising the puppy for up to 24 months (or alternate weekends, if a weekend raiser) * Teach basic obedience and reinforce positive behavior using approved training methods * Socialize the puppy in public settings such as stores, parks, and events * Attend scheduled training classes and check-ins with the organization’s training staff * Maintain communication with staff regarding the puppy’s progress, behavior, and milestones * Ensure the puppy’s daily needs are met (feeding, grooming, bathroom breaks, etc.) Qualifications: * No prior dog training experience required - we provide full training and support * Reliable transportation for vet visits, training classes, and socialization outings * Ability to follow training guidelines consistently * Commitment to the mission of serving veterans What We Provide: * Training, resources, and 24/7 support * Food, veterinary care, and essential supplies * Regular classes and mentorship from experienced trainers * A meaningful volunteer experience and lifelong impact Why It Matters: Every service dog starts with a volunteer who believes in something bigger than themselves.
