Mission Statement

Inspired by Rudyard Kipling’s The Jungle Book, Mowgli Rescue was created to foster the valuable relationship between animal and man. Kipling’s classic tale tells the story of Mowgli, an orphaned boy who is raised in the jungle by wolves. Over the course of Mowgli’s childhood, the jungle animals continually protect and teach him many life lessons from friendship, hardships, loss and love. Mowgli Rescue is a 501(c)(3) animal rescue sanctuary in Los Angeles that works to rescue and rehabilitate disadvantaged animals that are then placed in forever homes. During their time in the Mowgli Program, dogs are taken to visit at-risk youth organizations where the children interact and heal with their new furry friends
