Poetry Workshop Volunteer

Duties of Volunteer : Take part in weekly or bi-monthly poetry 2 hour workshop with shelter residents. With other volunteers and shelter residents, read published poetry and discuss. Then invited to write your own poetry. Qualifications: An interest in poetry but no formal writing skills needed. An interest in listening and empowering those who are homeless to write poetry. Volunteer Legal Services to Homeless Men

We are looking for attorneys who would be able to advise residents on common issues such as expungements of criminal records, lifting warrants, domestic relations issues, traffic violations, debtor/creditor issues. The ongoing legal clinic occurs once a week at the shelter for 1 to 1 1/2 hours. Attorneys not required to represent men in court, but to direct them to solutions and resources.

Provide and Serve Meals to Men Who are Homeless in Our Cleveland Community

Cook Out/Picnic at the Shelter

We are looking for a group to bring picnic food and items for grilling to the shelter for a welcome change of pace and menu! We have outdoor grills. There is nothing more communal than sharing food and conversation!

Bicycle Livery/repair person

Bicycling is often a necessary form of transportation for those who are homeless. This shelter has a livery of bicycles that shelter residents are welcome to check out & return. In addition, We teach bicycle repair skills for those who own their own bicycles. This activity is located at a shipping container revamped as a bicycle center at our shelter.
