Mission Statement
Invictus Preparatory Charter School exists to empower scholars with the academic and ethical foundations necessary for excellence in high school, college, and life.
Description
Invictus Preparatory Charter School is a free public charter school located in the Brooklyn community of East New York. Authorized by the State University of New York Charter Schools Institute, we are proud to serve a diverse population of 260 scholars representing a variety of cultural backgrounds, languages, and learning needs.
Learners with special needs comprise 14% of our student population, and English Language Learners comprise 3%. Approximately 84% percent of our student body qualifies for Free and Reduced Price Lunch.
Invictus Prep was founded in 2011 with the goal of providing a rigorous college prep curriculum to scholars in a safe and supportive environment. Character development is central to our educational approach.
As a school community, we believe that setting high expectations, and then equipping and encouraging scholars to meet them, is the key to achievement. Our school culture is founded on the tenets of Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS). PBIS is a proactive approach to establishing the behavioral supports and school culture necessary for all students to achieve social, emotional, and academic success.
