Mission Statement

UNO Federation Community Servicesis an organization committed to integrating Hispanics to the American main stream as well as other disadvantage citizens; by providing leadership training and needed services to children and adults. UNO will provide services mainly by entering into partnership with other organizations. UNO intends to empower its members to be self-reliant and to interact with the community as a whole by promoting good citizenship. PURPOSETo foster the social-economic and political well being of Hispanic origin people and other minority groups in the United States in order to assist in their achieving full political participation, better health, stronger family ties and be productive, stable, integrated citizens.UNO shall be a not for profit organization that will have a broad range of activities, aimed at cooperating with many agencies and organizations that can assist in providing and delivering resources for the benefit of Hispanics and other citizens.UNO shall be a membership organization in order to help deflect costs of activities but will deliver social and other services to all in need, irrespective of membership or not.UNO is guided by specific aims and purposes, some of which include: Voting Registration - dismal political participation by Hispanics at all level of society and in all areas of the country is a major barrier to their contribution to our American way of life. HEALTH SERVICES Hispanics are at the lower income spectrum and do not have access to main stream health services limiting their ability to be more productive workers and be overly dependent on public health services. UNO will network with existing organizations to provide medical health to children and adults lacking financial resources.
