Description
The Connecticut Public Affairs Network (CPAN) is experienced in teaching and engaging audiences in civics and civic engagement. Since 1997, CPAN has strengthened civic engagement among people of all ages, backgrounds and political persuasions by providing comprehensive and educational programming and outreach centered on civics, citizenship and civil discourse. In 2008, CPAN assumed management of the educational and community programs at Connecticut’s Old State House and since then has delivered meaningful school field trip programs about history and civics to thousands of Connecticut students. In addition, CPAN’s statewide Connecticut History Day (management assumed in 2011) and Connecticut’s Kid Governor (launched in 2015) programs have been recognized for their success in teaching elementary, middle and high school students about history, civics, inquiry, and taking informed action. CPAN’s award-winning programs have reached audiences in 151 of Connecticut’s 169 towns.
