Friends of Opal Creek is a non-profit organization whose mission is to inspire an understanding of ancient forest ecosystems through education and interpretation.

Description

FOOC runs an education facility in an ancient forest. Its rustic facilities date back to the 1930's when this "town" was a mining camp known as "Jawbone Flats". On average 30-50 guests stay at the Opal Creek Education Center where they sleep and eat in our lodge and are given interpretive hikes.
