Mission Statement

Redding Elementary School serves a culturally, linguistically, and ethnically diverse group of students who come from all over San Francisco. To the Redding School community, social justice and equity mean providing the highest quality education possible to all students so that they may succeed in our society. Our staff commits to providing a nurturing and safe learning environment in which all students are expected to achieve their maximum potential in all curricular disciplines. We offer a thematic, interdisciplinary program that aligns with State and District Standards and integrates arts education. Teachers work in collaboration with parents to ensure that students do their best work to experience success in their endeavors. Description

Redding is a diverse elementary school located in the Lower Nob Hill/Tenderloin neighborhoods. We proudly serve 275 elementary level students and
22 Transitional Kindergarten students that bring diversity in thought, culture and experience to our school. The three major ethnic groups are Latino,
Arabic and Asian. 42% of the student body is composed of English language learners, 8% are receiving special education services and 81% of our
students receive either free or reduced lunch. With our culturally, linguistically, and ethnically diverse group of students who come from all over the
world, the experienced Redding School staff is committed to providing a nurturing and safe learning environment in which all students are expected to
achieve their maximum potential in all curricular disciplines. Our thematic, interdisciplinary program aligns with Common Core State and District
Standards and integrates arts education by offering visual arts, choral music, dance, theater and instrumental music. Teachers and support staff work
in collaboration with parents to ensure that students are able to experience success in their endeavors and are the developing strong social/emotional
skills needed in our everĀ­changing world. Redding teachers, staff and families have high expectations and students are expected to leave Redding
with the knowledge and skills needed to be successful in life through middle/high school and into college/career. We are a community of lifeĀ­long,
