The West Hollywood Helen Albert Certified Farmers' Market is a Certified Farmers' Market with a "farmer first" philosophy. Mondays from 9am-2pm, the market brings together sustainable California farms, local artisans, musicians and community members. The market has a sister nonprofit, Sprouts of Promise. Sprouts of Promise is a 501(c)(3) that educates children and families on the importance of fresh fruits and vegetables and gives food-insecure individuals access to locally grown produce. Quick Overview: Our opportunities allow you to see what it takes to run a community farmers' market, meet our vendors and experience our customers first hand. Learn more about or promote sustainable food and volunteer through an educational program. You will have the opportunity to select your area of interest(s). The following are needed roles: -Market Host: Under supervision, help manage the Information Booth at the farmers market. Be a market liaison, answer questions, provide various services, and promote Sprouts of Promise programs and events. Report to on-site Manager. -Gleaning and Food Recovery Gather unsellable (but still delicious!) excess produce from farmers at the end of market day, then bring it to a local nonprofit for distribution! Fight food waste, bring nutrition to your community! -Setup and Breakdown Help the market managers set up the market in the morning or close up shop for the day. -Photography Volunteer: Take photos at the West Hollywood Farmers' Market and at Sprouts of Promise in-market and off-site events! Your photos will be used to promote Sprouts of Promise’s programs on our website, social media platforms and on marketing displays. Schedule flexibility. Requirements: In-market orientation (before or on 1st day of service). Work days and times will vary depending on event, task, position and location.
