Mission Statement

COASTAL PRESERVATION NETWORK is an all-volunteer 501c3 organization in College Point, NY, that is dedicated to restoring the coastal environment in Northeast Queens, improving local waterfront parks through hands-on action and advocacy, increasing public access to local waters, and empowering residents to be greener in their daily lives. We focus on MacNeil and Powells Cove parks, two magnificent East River parks in College Point that are havens of active recreation and peaceful enjoyment.

Description

Through environmental workshops, shoreline cleanups, seagrass and oyster plantings, research, and parks advocacy, Coastal is creating more vibrant waterfronts and parks, reconnecting the public to their coastal environment, and strengthening community service and pride.

The organization was slow to get back in touch, but that's understandable due to the pandemic. I'm happy I was able to do some translations and I referred my friend, who also left feeling happy she could help.
