Mission Statement

Our mission is to: - enhance the livability of the Santa Fe District, -create and support neighborhood improvement activities, and -represent the interests and concerns of neighborhood residents and businesses.

Description

Santa Fe CAN is a volunteer driven 501 (c)(3) non-profit community association.

  • Since our inception in 2013, we have created numerous community projects:
  • Co-founder of the Northwest Oakland Community Coalition, a resident-led community planning pilot.
  • Obtained 300 free trees for Santa Fe CAN residents.
  • Successfully obtained free residential parking permits for our community.
  • Stakeholder, Helen MacGregor Plaza Task Force for the redesign of the Plaza.
  • Fought to reopen Santa Fe Elementary School for our local community.
  • Adopted/hold regular cleanups at Helen MacGregor Plaza and Driver’s Plaza.
  • Held CORE I and II trainings for City residents in our community.
  • Advocate on behalf of Santa Fe residents.
  • Formed working relationships with elected officials and staff and local businesses.
