Founded in 1990 as Washington Shakespeare Company, WSC Avant Bard is a performing arts organization dedicated to producing classic works - both time-tested and contemporary; with a bold, provocative approach in an intimate, affordable setting.

Description

WSC Avant Bard is a four-time Helen Hayes Awards Winner out of twenty-nine nominations, and a six time recipient of the Mary Goldwater Awards for Theatrical Excellence. Avant Bard has been twice featured in the Catalog for Philanthropy as one of the best small charities in the region.
