Mission Statement

The Yoga Summit seeks to put Akron, Canton, and the surrounding areas on the map as a conscious community actively contributing to world peace and to foster healing within ourselves and our community. We stand on the pillars of wisdom, service, accessibility, & collaboration. Each year, as part of the Akron Peace Project’s annual Akron Peace Month, yoga teachers, meditation leaders, & healing practitioners gather together to offer an open-to-the-public weekend of empowerment, leadership development, non-violence, and exploration of the Path of Yoga.

Description

The purpose of the Yoga Summit is to

...foster healing & resiliency within ourselves and our community.

...unify a yoga & meditation community that promotes inclusivity, authenticity, and respect.

...create and promote classes, programs, trainings, and teachers that share yoga with folks of all ages, abilities, socioeconomic statuses, ways of being, experiences, and expressions of self.

...spread equity and justice to yoga classrooms, practices, retreats, and trainings.
