Mission Statement

The mission of NARAL Pro-Choice Texas is to recruit, develop and sustain a constituency that uses the political process to promote public health policies that guarantee every woman access to the full range of reproductive healthcare, including responsible sexuality education, short- and long-term contraceptive methods, adequate pre- and post-natal care, and legal abortion.

Description

NARAL Pro-Choice Texas is a non-partisan political organization working to defend reproductive choices by electing pro-choice candidates to local and state offices who will be accountable to the pro-choice majority in Texas; lobbying during the Texas Legislative Session; educating legislators, the media and the public on the full range of reproductive health care options; and organizing activists at the grassroots level during legislative and electoral cycles and throughout the interim. NARAL Pro-Choice Texas centers on these critical issues: keeping abortion safe and legal and ensuring that it is accessible; promoting safe access to quality reproductive healthcare; promoting healthy pregnancies and child health; promoting age-appropriate, medically accurate, responsible sex education; eliminating coercive reproductive healthcare policies; and promoting contraceptive research and access.
