Mission Statement

The Congressional Chorus is a multi-generational family of choruses reflecting the diversity of our Nation’s capital. Our mission is to champion American music through performances and commissions; promote the choral arts through artistic excellence, innovative performances and active community engagement; and provide affordable music education and performance opportunities to aspiring singers of all ages and backgrounds.

Description

Since its founding, the Congressional Chorus has grown into multiple choruses performing a full season of concerts, providing educational programs reaching singers from ages 8 to 95, and serving members and audiences from throughout the metropolitan area. The Chorus has grown to include the 90-member adult auditioned chorus, the 65-member auditioned American Youth Chorus (AYC), and the free 24-member NorthEast Senior Singers (NESS).
