Description
Projects
Our club is involved in a variety of projects that involve fundraising, community service, and assisting children locally and worldwide. Some happen only once. Here are those that occur annually:
Eyeglasses for charity - We collect eyeglasses that can be reconditioned. Just give them to George East (or any other Kiwanian if you are not a member of our club).
TaylorMade Golf Invitational - This is our big annual fundraiser. We organize all volunteers and provide many of them for this week-long event. The proceeds fund our annual scholarship and several other charities.
Thanksgiving Day Feast - We plan the annual feast at the fairgrounds, acquire supplies for it, and provide many of the volunteers. Thousands of complete, free meals are served at this event.
Bell Ringing - We aid the Salvation Army by encouraging Christmas shoppers to part with some of their cash for charity.
First Night - On New Year's Eve we provide volunteers to run the show at the Golden State Theater.
Rio Run Pancakes - On New Year's Day we set up stoves and cook thousands of pancakes for the ravenous runners who have just finished the annual Rio Run.
Meals on Wheels - The Pacific Grove facility occasionally needs annual mainenance. We provide it.
