Description
Garden Oaks Post 560 was founded on May 21, 1946 by World War I and the recently returned World War II veterans living in the Garden Oaks-Oak Forest area.
We are a community centered Veterans Service Organization devoted to helping other Veterans Service Organizations in the Houston Area, devolping a strong sense of national pride in our youth and children, advocating for a strong but efficient military, and promoting an atmosphere of stewardship and individual obligation between our veterans and the communities they live in. We truly are local organization with a national impact.
For most of us our service has ended, but as American Legionnaires we stand ready to do our part in the fight to make our community, state, and nation a place we can all be proud of. We do not discriminate based on age, gender, race, creed or political affiliation. All that matters is your devotion to your fellow veteran and community.
Be sure to check back often to keep up to date with what we have going on, and be sure to ask how you can get involved! If you are interested in attending, volunteering for, or sponsoring any of theses events please do not hesitate to contact us. We are all in this together, and it is your participation that sustains us!
