US Horse Welfare and Rescue at Nod Hill in Avon, CT seeks volunteers to help with barn chores and horse care, including mucking, feeding, water care, turn out, grooming, and turn in. Additionally, USHWR and our horses need individuals to assist with ambassadorships, community outreach, fundraising, event planning, marketing, social media, website, writing pamphlets and brochures, or promoting horse welfare at events, fairs, horse shows, etc. There is something for everyone! At USHWR, if animals tug at you, the horses will feed your soul. The advocacy, education, community outreach, and supportive programs we offer horse owners are a critical part of what we do to help save America's horses from the little-known, dirty business of the horse slaughter pipeline. With our eyes set on developing affiliates all around the country, and arming them with the tools necessary to become effective ambassadors and advocates for America's horses, your involvement can help us reach that goal and forward our mission. PLEASE INCLUDE A GOOD CONTACT PHONE NUMBER IN WITH A SHORT EMAIL TO US TO STREAMLINE COMMUNICATION. THANK YOU!
