Mission Statement
Wyoming Valley Children's Association provides the highest quality early childhood education to ensure the greatest developmental potential of ALL children in partnership with their families, including therapeutic and support services as needed.
Description
WVCA's largest program is our Together We Grow Preschool for children ages 3, 4 & 5, which blends a population of children with developmental delays with typically developing children in three of our classrooms. More specialized programs are offered in three other classrooms. Each class has low staff-to-child ratios to ensure one-on-one instruction. The therapeutic services for children are identified through an Individual Education Plan (IEP) and are paid, in part, through the PA Early Intervention Program. Children who are typically developing attend on a private pay basis and financial aid is available to families in need. Our preschool curriculum addresses developmental needs including social/emotional, cognitive, fine motor, gross motor, adaptive skill, language, positive self-concept & positive behavior.
Other WVCA programs include:
- PA Early Intervention home based services (birth through 3 years).
- A CATCH (Childhood Autism Team Check) Clinic (run in partnership with the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, and other area organizations), is designed to evaluate children who may be at risk for Autism Spectrum Disorder.
- A Pre-K multi-sensory room.
- Speech, occupational, physical and music therapies.
