Mission Statement

I AM My Sister’s Keeper, Inc. (IAMSK) was established as a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization in July 2016, and is headquartered in Sanford, North Carolina. Our mission is to facilitate social, emotional, and financial well-being among low income women by providing them with the tools and resources needed to escape poverty.

Description

The goals of our organization are accomplished through our 3 programs; Culture87, The 5 P’s, and THRIVE. These goals are:

  1. To foster a safe place or women to develop socially, professionally, and emotionally.
  2. To teach women to more aggressively seek training and resources to assist them with exploring occupations and establishing their careers.
  3. To assist women with acquiring jobs that are relevant to their professional interest.

As a result of participating in our programs, women will

  1. Acquire life skills that will assist them with every day challenges at home, work, and within the community, in a positive and productive manner.
  2. Be matched women with mentors who share similar personal and professional interest to assist them through their job search and acquirement.
  3. Acquire mentorship and guidance from their professional peers, enabling them to become more effective at seeking and securing career opportunities.
