Here's a sample of our volunteer opportunities:VIEW AS
Our faith community has a firm commitment to address the real and present problems of our local community in real and direct ways. It is our missional purpose to have a direct impact on the person by ensuring they have they have emotional, spiritual and physical support when the bottom drops out of life with no strings or expectations
Being a distinct community of people who are about the Gospel of Jesus Christ by definition means we have a serious interest in the wellbeing of the larger community we exist in. To us, that means taking a hard look at the community of Williamsburg and not only acknowledging that 22% of our neighbors are living below the poverty line and working hard paycheck to paycheck but also rolling up our sleeves and doing something about it. To us this means more than handing out pantry items, school supplies, winter coats, and shelter from the winter cold; those are transactions, good transactions but they are missing a relationship. Transactions are simply not enough, it is through these tender moments of kindness and mercy that we seek to build a relationship with our neighbors. We seek to walk with people in their adversity. We seek to hear and understand the person’s special unique story. We seek to cry with our friends in pain. We seek to celebrate with our friends in every success, great or small. We seek to do what Jesus did for us... we seek to make room in our lives for other people.
