Mission Statement
The Monte Cristo Preservation Association was formed in 1983 to protect the historical and environmental values of the South Fork Sauk River Valley in Snohomish County and its vicinity. In a spirit of cooperation with the surrounding National Forest land, we voluntarily maintain the Forest Service campgrounds and outhouses from Barlow Pass to Monte Cristo, the Monte Cristo Historical Tour sites, trails and public access, and the county road into the town site. Your participation in these activities is both encouraged and appreciated. MCPA is a private, non-profit organization open to those who would like to help us maintain and preserve the historical and environmental values of this century-old mining area. The MCPA currently has approximately 100 members and is a member of the League of Snohomish County Heritage Organizations.
