Mission Statement

Alena Museum is nonprofit 501(c)3 creative space that houses multi-disciplinary arts and work studios to cultivate the cultural richness of the African Diaspora. In the African language of Tigrinya Alena translates to "we are here!" Alena Museum declares that "we are here" by providing access for the African Diaspora to create original work and keep dedicated space for creative expression, in the face of the rapid displacement of these communities as a result of gentrification. Description

With the vast displacements of local artists, Alena Museum dedicating 6,000sqft of space for artists of the African diaspora to create, collaborate and work. Alena Museum provides art space dedicated to showcasing the multi-disciplinary arts that reflects the African diaspora community, performance space, and work studios. The founder Hager (Seven) Asfaha is conceptual artists and activist who uses creative mediums to address social and political issues affecting the African diaspora community.
