Mission Statement

The Center for Social Ministry promotes awareness and understanding of Christian/Catholic Christian social justice teachings and empowers and supports individuals to use their unique gifts to sow seeds for social change; Encouraging participation in the JustFaith Ministries Programs and other programs that offer Catholic/Christian-based social justice education and awareness; Partnering with Catholic Charities in Des Moines to facilitate Poverty Simulations for large groups; and Providing continuing education and social justice formation opportunities for JustFaith graduates and the larger community.

Description

The Center for Social Ministry or "CSM" is a 501c3 non-profit organization in Des Moines. The primary purpose of CSM is to encourage participation in poverty awareness and justice education programs, including the national JustFaith Ministries’ Programs - the JustFaith Process, the Engaging Spirituality process, and the JustMatters Modules - as well as, encourage participation in other programs or processes that provide Gospel-based, social justice education.
