Mission Statement

The goal of Go and Play Stable is to promote the use of the Standardbred breed for sport and to educate the general public to acknowledge the breed as being suitable to more than just harness racing.

Description

We are a registered Canadian charitable organization ( # 83710 9032 RR0001) that is based out of Peterborough, Ontario. We rescue, rehabilitate, retrain, and rehome Standardbred harness racing horses who are looking for career changes once their racing days are completed. We have received our horses through a variety of different sources - most commonly owner surrenders, but we have also taken in neglect/abuse cases and auction feedlot saves. Since our inception in 2012, we have found homes for over 100 Standardbred horses - including 40 horses in 2016 alone! We receive no monetary compensation through government resources; and rely solely on donations and fundraising events to keep our organization running.
