Become a temporary foster for one of our adoptable cats/kittens from time to time when your schedule allows. We have kittens/cats residing seven days a week in special habitats at six pet supply stores like PetSmart, PETCO, and Pet Supplies Plus. The are available to adopt seven days a week which is why we adopt close to 300 cats per year. Space Foster: We will have cats ready to go to a condo but nothing empty at the time so we need a foster to care for the cat/kitten until we have an adoption and a condo becomes available. Quarantine Foster: When we take in a cat/kitten we do a Health Intake exam, treat any issue we find like fleas, diarrhea, or goopy eyes. We vaccinate, treat with flea prevention and intestinal and quarantine the kitten for at least a week before moving it to a condo in one of the pet supply stores to show for adoption. Going to a new home is stressful enough for the cat so we want to be sure the cat is healthy before going to their new home. Medical Foster: Stress can cause a cat a cat to develop conjunctivitis (pink eye), upper respiratory infection, or diarrhea. When that occurs we want to remove the cat from the condo and place it in foster care where it can be medicated for a week to ten days. These conditions can be contagious to the other cats in the condo and it turns off an adopter's interest. We train if necessary and provide the supplies you need, all you add is love.

League City Pets Alive (LCPA) is looking for an animal-loving videographer to create a 10 minute video showing potential volunteer the activities the position entails. If the potential volunteer is still interested they progress to the "hand-on" training. Without this video results in 50% of those trained not engaging. We hope to reduce the number of volunteers who fail to engage after "hands-on" training because it wasn’t what they expected. Why Help LCPA? For over 16 years, we’ve been dedicated to rescuing cats and advocating for their well-being, especially those most in need. By creating this video, you’ll help us build a stronger, more committed team of volunteers, ensuring more cats find loving homes forever. If you're ready to put your videography skills to a purpose you can be proud of join us in making a lasting difference in the lives of cats and the volunteers who help them!

LCPA adopts around 300 cats/kittens per year saving them from a life on the street or possible euthanasia In animal shelters. We have adoptable cats and kittens residing seven days a week in cat habitats at SIX pet supply stores. Three are in League City, two in Clear Lake City, and one in Kemah. They are PETCO, PetSmart, and Pet Supplies Plus. The adoptable cats and kittens are showing and being adopted seven days a week. This agreement with the stores requires we keep the habitats clean and take care of the cat's other needs. Volunteers feed, scoop, give the cats enrichment by socializing and playing for how ever long you want to stay. A typical shift is one hour and the times are flexible. We have many parents working with their children to teach them responsibility, and spending time together. While in the store you will answer questions from the store customers about the cats in the habitat, who we are, what you do and invite them to volunteer with us. You will be trained so you can explain the adoption process and direct them to our website to complete an application or view our other adoptable cats. You can advance to doing "meet & greets" with the potential adopters, or train other volunteers as they join. You could train to become an adoption counselor, able to approve and process adoption paperwork. Ultimately you could become a co-mentor for a store. Or, you could be a temporary foster for our cats. Don't worry, you move at your own pace if you so desire. Saving lives is what we do and you can too.
