Description
VISION: Worl without breast cancer
HISTORY: Susan G. Komen Miami/Ft. Lauderdale was founded in 1999 by a group of motivated and hardworking volunteers. That same passion, carried on throughout the years by thousands of volunteers and dedicated board and staff members, has sustained Komen Miami/Ft. Lauderdale and enabled us to invest more than $14 million in local breast health and breast cancer awareness projects in our service area. Our Affiliate serves over six million people in three counties in the southernmost point of Florida. Currently, our Affiliate funds 9 local grantees that provide breast health education, breast cancer screening and treatment programs for uninsured, medically underserved women and men in Broward, Miami-Dade and Monroe Counties.
