Hospice Volunteer Opportunity We have an on-going need for compassionate Volunteers. The goal for these Volunteers is to provide companionship for patients or relief for their caregivers who might need a couple of hours to run errands while someone sits with their loved one. This would occur in patient homes and facilities throughout Oro Valley, Marana, and Picture Rocks. Mileage is reimbursed. The services you will give as a Hospice volunteer will profoundly improve the quality of our patient's lives. Friendly visits enable families to keep their loved ones at home, around the people they love, and the things they love. Assisting with errands helps a tired family cope with their many challenges and allows them time with their loved one. Simply holding a patient's hand can ease their mind and comfort their spirit. Requirements to Volunteer for Hospice Volunteering takes no advanced medical training or great commitment. It can be as simple as reading to, or spending time with a patient a few hours a week, or offering to run a few errands for them or their caregivers. It is small deeds of kindness that so profoundly enhance the lives of our patients and those who love them. Because of the vulnerability of the patients we serve, we do require a background check, drug test, CPR certification and TB test - all of which are paid for by Hospice Family Care. We provide in-depth training so that Volunteers feel prepared to do their important work. All hospice volunteers are given assignments that best suit their time, skills and interests. We reimburse mileage for all visits! Our volunteers are thoroughly trained and supported by our entire interdisciplinary team of Nurses, Doctors, Social Workers, and Bereavement Coordinators. Training includes scheduled sessions and individual training. If you are interested in becoming a hospice volunteer or would like more information on volunteering please contact Christina Rowden, Volunteer Coordinator, at (520)790-9299 or crowden@hfc-az.com . Hospice Family Care is a leader in the field of hospice care, and has been serving Pima County for 24 years. We have an active, growing Volunteer program, and we hope you will join us.

Veteran Volunteers are needed in the Tucson area to help us honor our Veteran Patients. Due to Covid-19, in-person visits are currently limited, but there are other ways to help. We provide all training around your schedule, and reimburse mileage. As both parties are comfortable, Veteran Volunteers will visit Veteran Patients for one-time pinning ceremonies, or on an ongoing basis for companionship. This much-needed service helps honor patients who are dealing with a terminal illness, and who would benefit from the connection and understanding that only another Veteran can bring. Due to current restrictions, Veterans can also help in other ways, including virtual recognition ceremonies. Becoming a Hospice Volunteer is rewarding and easy. To learn more, please contact us today!
