Mission Statement
The 4:13 Fitness Project is a faith-based, healthy lifestyle movement that promotes a mental, physical and spiritual approach to improving the health of the church community. In observance of Philippians 4:13, we envision a community of healthy and active Believers, Warriors, and Conquerors who know that through Christ, they can do all things.
Description
- 60% of American Adults don’t get recommended amounts of exercise & 25% don’t exercise at all.
- According to a research study, young adults who regularly attend religious services are 50% more likely to become obese by the time they reach middle age.
- 77% of Americans identify as a part of a Christian religion and this group is the most overweight compared to other religious groups.
It’s time for a change.
The 4:13 Fitness Project is a new approach, using our community’s collective energy and power to get active and reduce obesity rates and related diseases in our community. Through inspiration, engagement and accountability we are on a journey to reshape perceptions of health and fitness and to develop habits that align with Christian beliefs.
The 4:13 Fitness Project is bridging the worlds of faith and fitness through spiritual fellowship, accountability and a lot of fun!
