The San-Francisco Bay Area Internet Society Chapter serves California, with a specific focus on the Bay Area and Silicon Valley, by promoting the core values of the Internet Society and its mission: The Internet is for Everyone. We advocate for free and open access for all. Our current areas of focus include Internet governance, data privacy, data protection and data security, IoT, women in ICT and rural broadband.
With over 1,000 members, the SF-Bay Area Chapter is one of the largest of the 110 Chapters worldwide. As a not-for-profit 501 (c) 3 entity, the SF Bay-Area ISOC Chapter’s work is funded entirely by donations, sponsorships and grants and we rely on volunteers to carry out our day-to-day activities.
