NashvilleREAD, Inc. is a comprehensive, community based 501(c) (3) agency focused on strengthening literacy and learning efforts in the Nashville-Davidson County community. Founded in 1991, NashvilleREAD has become a premier literacy organization that is recognized locally and nationally for its innovative and collaborative approaches to addressing the problems caused by undereducation. Since its inception, NashvilleREAD has been committed to collaboration. The agency works directly with literacy providers and other organizations to successfully implement new initiatives and programs that: increase opportunities for the poorly prepared and underserved; remove barriers to education and growth; and leverage community resources for literacy efforts. Through one-on-one tutoring, volunteer efforts and community outreach, NashvilleREAD has developed a large network of supporters and collaborators to facilitate reading efforts for adults, children and families in the community.
