Mission Statement

Protect and enhance scenic beauty, recreational opportunities, wildlife habitat, historic communitites and healthy economies in a multi-purpose Greenway along the Interstate 90 from the shores of Puget Sound over the Cascade Mountains to the Kittitas Valley foothills. Help make this human and natural heritage visible and accessible to all people.

Description

The Mountains to Sound Greenway Trust, founded in 1991, is a non-profit partnership of citizens, private landowners, businesses, public agencies, environmental organizations, and local governments working to protect and enhance the scenic I-90. The Trust supports efforts to preserve open space, farms, working forests, and historic sites, and to create new trails, recreation and tourism opportunities along the 100-mile Mountains to Sound Greenway. Trust volunteers work year-round on a variety of outdoor projects to improve the environmental health of and recreational access to the Greenway.

It was a lot of fun working with nature and knowing I was helping the environment. The people working the event were really nice and it was a great experience!

The people are fantastic because they are friendly and very helpful. This organization is very organized and dedicated to restoring/building the Puget Sound Area. I've had 3 tree planting experiences with them and every experience has been great thus far. I very highly recommend volunteering with this organization no matter what volunteer experience level you are at. I've been volunteering for about 5+ years and it has been one of the best!
