Mission Statement
Staying Put’s Mission: Coordinating volunteers to help seniors and adults with disabilities to maintain their independence.
Description
We are a non-profit organization that began forming in 2015 with the effort of an amazing team of good-hearted, tenacious people possessing a mix of professional skillset and/or experience. Following the formation of this 501(c) 3, the organization became operational in January of 2016, and is going strong today.
Staying Put’s Mission: Coordinating volunteers to help seniors and adults with disabilities to maintain their independence. In the community of Spring Valley, WI and slightly beyond; we train and engage volunteers to provide services to homebound individuals with services like local rides, errands, light maintenance, shopping, light gardening and yard work, minimal housework, friendly visits/calls, caregiver breaks/time-outs, community connectivity, social engagement, physical activities, speaker events, technical assistance/workshops, a memory cafe, meals on wheels deliveries/partnering with county program and local business, and resources assistance/navigation, etc.
We consider ourselves a friendly neighbor helping people to stay in their homes as long as possible through (non-medical) services inside and outside the home, helping the aged and disabled feel relevant, connected, active, social, happier! As we continue to evolve, an objective is that the model will be replicated in other communities ... as the population ages with demographics favoring a 60+ majority.
We are proud of what we have accomplished up to know.
