Mission Statement
The Endometriosis Research Center is an international 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to raising awareness about Endometriosis, educating the medical and lay societies about the disease, and providing support to the women and teens who live with this debilitating disorder. Endometriosis affects over 7 million women in the US alone (more women than breast cancer) and can cause severe pain, infertility, depression and more in patients with the disease. Endometriosis can impair a woman's ability to work, care for herself and her family, and is currently incurable.
Description
The ERC is dedicated to raising awareness, educating society and facilitating the search for a cure in many ways. Through relationships within the scientific community and with world opinion leaders on the disease, the ERC participates in and strives to promote further evidence-based research studies for better treatment options and ultimately a cure for Endometriosis. Interested parties are able to obtain resources, newsletters, educational materials and support from the ERC at little or no cost, and there is never a fee to become a member of the organization. Working with widespread media contacts, the ERC helps to raise awareness about Endometriosis and lobbies to raise necessary funds to perform further studies on the disease. We offer online and local support to women with Endometriosis and their families free of charge, and act as a clearinghouse for current issues on Endometriosis. The ERC's ultimate goal is to improve the quality of life for women with this insidious disease.
