Mission Statement

Our Mission The mission of Anchor House is to work with abused, homeless, runaway, at risk and aging out youth to utilize their strengths and the support of their families and communities in order to ensure a stronger future. Anchor House Shelter was founded in 1978 to move homeless and runaway youth off the streets of Trenton and reunite them with their family. Today, Anchor House Inc. provides shelter, school outreach, transitional and supportive housing, and street outreach to youth, ages 12 to 21 years of age, from Mercer County and throughout the state of New Jersey.

Description

The Connecting Youth Program helps youth ages 14-17 build a support system so they have life-long connections within the community. The program helps youth find family or people they consider as family, and mentors to help them transition into adulthood. Youth receive assistance in high school, help finding employment, planning a career and applying to college or vocational school.
