The HBCU Foundation is a Federally-recognized 501(c)(3) organization, whose aim is to raise much-needed scholarship dollars in support of deserving students attending our nation's Historically Black Colleges and Universities.
The HBCU Foundation plays a critical role in enabling deserving students to attend college each year and gain access to internship and career opportunities by:
Facilitating access to internships and career opportunities targeted specifically to students and alumni of our 102 member institutions
Facilitating student access to mentorship
Providing financial support to our 102 member institutions
Providing college readiness and early-access programs to high school students and families
Advocating at national events on behalf of HBCUs
HBCU institutions educate nearly 300,000 students each year at tuitions averaging 30 percent less than those charged by non-HBCU institutions. The HBCU Foundation's programs and scholarships increase the likelihood that students will enter, as well as graduate from college.
