About Atlas Assistance Dogs Atlas Assistance Dogs is dedicated to helping individuals with disabilities train their own service dogs through innovative and effective methods. Our team of remote volunteers are committed to expanding access to service dogs for legally eligible people. Our online certification program, along with the dedication of our valuable volunteers, allows us to significantly reduce the cost of obtaining a trained and certified service dog. Our volunteers have a flexible schedule and dedicate a minimum of 5 hours per week to assist those in need. About the Outreach Coordinator Role: Our goal is to find individuals who can effectively seek and engage with affiliate groups and partners to help us expand our network. As an Outreach Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in establishing and maintaining relationships with our partners and stakeholders in the following areas: Service Dog Trainers: our Service Dog Trainer Academy program. Clients: helping individuals with disabilities train their own service dog. Team Facilitators: individuals who are passionate about helping service dogs and handlers succeed by volunteering their time for training and certification. Standalone courses: like our Teams Set in Motion course. Foundational training for potential service dogs and pet dogs. Funding sources Affiliate Partnerships: As the Outreach Coordinator, your primary duties for your designated area will include: Identifying and researching potential partners, funders, volunteers, clients, and trainers. Compile contact information and background research into detailed spreadsheets. Establish connections with these contacts through email, phone, and meetings (if located in your local area). You will also work closely with the extended Outreach Committee to develop effective outreach strategies. Key Skills: Comfort with ambiguity - the ability to navigate unknown or uncertain situations with ease. Strong written and verbal communication abilities. Strategic thinking and creativity, Proficiency in Excel and online research. Exceptional teamwork and feedback skills. Available for a minimum of five hours per week. Nice-to-Have Skills: Familiarity with service dogs, training, and disabilities. Prior experience with nonprofits is a bonus. Experience in sales and communication. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and concisely. Strategic thinking and creativity, with a knack for identifying new opportunities and innovative solutions. Proficiency in Excel and online research tools to analyze and interpret data effectively. Strong team collaboration skills, with the ability to provide constructive feedback and support. Availability for at least 5 hours per week to consistently contribute to the team's success. Nice-to-Have Skills: Familiarity with service dogs, training, and disabilities. Prior experience with nonprofits. Expertise in sales and communication. Atlas Assistance Dogs helps people who legally qualify for an assistance dog under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) to obtain a certified assistance dog. We help to resolve challenges and remove barriers people face in obtaining an assistance dog. To do this, we:
Serve people with a wide range of disabilities. Operate in a broad geographical area. Serve all types of people. Work with all dog breeds. Enable people to work with their own dogs. Enable people to train their own dogs or participate in the training.
