Pleasant Valley Ecumenical Network (PVEN) is an organization that provides low income families and families in crisis with the essentials like free food and clothing to establish and maintain a minimal standard of living while encouraging independence and self-sufficiency. For over 25 years, PVEN has been faithfully serving our neighbors in need by providing food, clothing, and assistance to clients living the West End of Monroe County. Our vision is to help build a healthy community where people can be secure in the knowledge that they can access food, clothing, and other resources necessary to work effectively, live happier lives, and be treated with dignity and respect. The PVEN Food Pantry motto is "Giving with Heart".
PVEN provides essential services to people in need in the southern Monroe County area. For over 25 years, PVEN has provided free food and clothing - first from the attic of a church in Brodheadsville, PA, later in a several different temporary locations in the West End, and eventually at the corner of Greenview Drive and Mclhany Rd behind Chestnuthill Diner. Since 2016, PVEN has also run the Summer Lunch program for children across southern Monroe county.
PVEN also provides critial referral services to local agencies for individuals who need emergency housing and utility help, domestic violence support, healthcare services, etc. PVEN's mission is to help people through the hard times and help them get back on their feet so they can fully enjoy life.
