We are looking for a responsible and dedicated individual with a background in fundraising and donor engagement in a nonprofit or small business/start-up environment. The Company: Feel the Beat is a 501c(3) non-profit dance organization based in Denver, CO, creating equally accessible music and dance experiences for all types of students. Our learners include those who are Hearing, Deaf, Hard of Hearing, as well as with/without Disabilities. We’ve developed a curriculum that incorporates a vibrotactile dance floor and instruction tools to aid in the experience of dance. We are looking for a responsible and dedicated individual with a background in law as either a lawyer, administrative assistant to a law office or a paralegal. The Company: Feel the Beat is a 501c(3) non-profit dance organization based in Denver, CO, creating equally accessible music and dance experiences for all types of students. Our learners include those who are Hearing, Deaf, Hard of Hearing, as well as with/without Disabilities. We’ve developed a curriculum that incorporates a vibrotactile dance floor and instruction tools to aid in the experience of dance. Duties: Support Founder & CEO with tasks/projects as assigned including; writing/reviewing contracts (employee, contractor, event related, floor rental related, etc.), writing/reviewing employee documents, and other compliance documentation support as needed. Applicants are now being accepted for volunteers to help support as assistant dance instructors during our dance classes. Feel the Beat offers daytime, evening and after-school inclusive and accessible dance classes for all ages, abilities and skill levels. Feel the Beat serves individuals of all age ranges as well as those with and without disabilities in both public and private class settings. We are looking for a responsible and dedicated individual, who can help assist our dance instructors during class, providing a safe and encouraging space for all students and help to enhance each student's dancing skills. We have 2 types of classes that we are looking for volunteers for: Private group classes: Group classes are perfect for organizations that focus on respite care, community engagement, and physical therapy for the disabled population. Weekly classes: These classes meet once per week and focus on the skills, technique, and choreography for different styles of dance. ASL is preferred for these classes, other languages are a plus! Ability to assist dance instructor by teaching and encouraging a range of student levels and abilities/disabilities. Assist in the demonstration and teaching of a variety of dance methods, techniques, and skills. Assist instructor in teaching and altering instruction to meet students’ needs and preferences. Ability to meet varying student needs (e.g., teaching mixed abilities in the same space). Must possess excellent patience and communication skills. Maintain the safety of the class participants. Assist in developing student technical and performance skills throughout the program term. Observe students to determine the kind of training and development needed. Assist in evaluating student progress after each class. Assist in preparing choreographed dances as needed. Uphold a high quality of professionalism as a representative of Feel the Beat. Promote, value, and protect the mission of Feel the Beat. Regularly attend your chosen and agreed-upon days and times. Qualifications: Ability to volunteer during the day and evenings on weekdays is a must, Saturday is a plus. Previous experience with teaching children (including preschoolers) as well as adults. Former dance education and/or professional experience is preferred. Basic American Sign Language (ASL) is preferred. Experience working with disabled individuals is a plus. Experience working with neurodivergent individuals is a plus. Cultural Diversity experience is an asset.

Our learners include those who are Hearing, Deaf, Hard of Hearing, as well as with/without Disabilities. We’ve developed a curriculum that incorporates a vibrotactile dance floor and instruction tools to aid in the experience of dance. Volunteer Job Description: Responsible for supporting the Founder & CEO as well as the Director of Marketing & Outreach and Program Coordinator in for events that we both host and attend including maintaining/updating the Master Calendar of Events, volunteer and team scheduling and coordination, securing ASL interpreters, day-of-event setup, etc. Help assist in researching and securing new event opportunities in the Denver Metro area focused on the Deaf, Hard of Hearing and/or Disability community Help assist in designing a new fundraiser outreach program to local businesses to help drive our fundraising efforts Assist in Board Meeting prep and meeting minutes related to events Responsible for coordinating and supporting other events (virtual and in-person) including fundraisers, Peer-to-Peer (P2P), etc. Please email our Director of Marketing & Outreach if you are interested in applying for this volunteer position at whitney@feelthebeat.dance.

Feel the Beat is a Colorado-based 501c3 nonprofit and dance studio dedicated to making the experience of dance and music possible for all including those who are Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and/or with or without disabilities. So much more than a dance studio, Feel the Beat is for all skill levels, ages, and abilities. We offer a variety of class options including weekly classes, private group classes, school programs as well as accessible events. Through our programming, we aim to engage students’ senses, strengthen muscle groups, improve coordination, and teach the fundamentals of music, dance principles, and choreography while connecting to the music through our bone conduction vibrational dance floor! We are looking for volunteers who can help run our vendor booth at community events around the Denver Metro Area. If you are a creative and value the meaningful impact of movement and play then this volunteer role is for you! Responsibilities for events include: -Picking up event bin from our studio prior to the day of event -Setting up the booth with our programming materials -Sharing and talking to the public about what we do at FTB -Tearing down and packing up event bin -Communicating with the event coordinator about details for event -Responding to emails sent out to volunteers about upcoming events There are no set time commitments for this role, but we are looking for individuals who would be available to volunteer for one event, once a month. Events are scheduled in advanced with ample time. Most events are on a Saturday or Sunday during the morning or afternoon. Occasionally there are evening events.
