Mission Statement

Peace Presbyterian Church is a spiritual community that offers a place for people to connect with the spirit of Christ. Our intent in everything we do is to provide space, study, fellowship, invitation, and opportunity to inspire people to connect with God, each other, and the world.

Description

The food pantry began in late 2005, literally in a closet, primarily to serve the needs of an immigrant African congregation that rented space within our facilities. When the economy declined in late 2007, the ministry grew and grew to the point that we had to move it into a large room formerly occupied by the youth ministry. It was outfitted with 5 refrigerators and 3 freezers and now provides groceries and meat to between 100 and 140 families per week.

The days and hours of operation Sundays from 12:30 PM - 2:00 PM.

On Friday mornings, the food is delivered by Feeding NorthEast Florida, this is where you are needed to help unload the truck.!

On Friday evenings at 6:00 PM, volunteers come in and pre-bag groceries and bread and then on Sundays, as family numbers are called, an appropriate number of bags of groceries and meat are provided, based upon the number of people in the family unit. We don’t simply dispense food, but work to build relationships with our clients in order that we may help them come to know the Christ of life and a meaningful life for themselves.
